Welcome to the first entry of our Developer Journal. As the MetaGods Metaverse opens up, we want to inform all of you on the progress and development updates of the game. We are currently building out v1 of the Path to Ascension, which introduces the MetaGods narrative and deep dives into the world building of the gods. We cannot wait for you all to try the different features we’ve created, and will continue to fine-tune the balance of the game.
Our motto has always been: The community comes first.
After a ton of testing and feedback from you, the player, we will push it to the mobile app stores for both iOS and android. This is just the first of many dev journal entries, so make sure you stay up to date with us first here.
DEVELOPMENT UPDATES:
New Boss, New Class/Weapon, and New Engine Preview Stage!
New Class: Necromancer
- Medium range, summoner, steady damage
- Necromancer does not shoot projectiles, summons the dead to fight instead.
- First class to have multiple skills
- Our first MetaGods Class to have multiple skills, press 1, 2 or 3 on the keyboard to switch skills.
- Burning Skull
- Necro will summon skulls that actively seeks out enemies nearby and deals continuous damage to them when they are close.
- The skulls have a medium-close detection range so remember! Necro must get closer to the enemies to cast this skill.
- This skill has no cooldown. This means you can summon endless amounts to destroy the enemy.
Bone Guard
- The necro summons a skeleton that moves slowly but has a high health. Think of the bone guard as your personal bodyguard.
- Necromancer can use the skeleton to block enemy projectiles and draw aggro.
- This skill has a medium cooldown.
- Necromancer can time this skill to counter any devastating attacks from the enemies. The strategic advantage goes to the one that can master this timing.•
Devil’s Resurrection
- Necro reaches to the depths of Hades to summon Pluto to their side and fights alongsidethem. Possessed Pluto is your pet, and will teleport and follow you around.
- Pluto will stay in range and fire continuous projectiles at any enemy.
- Pluto has a high cooldown. The player should use this skill sparingly. Strategically, if a player can utilize this skill carefully during boss fights, he/she can be victorious!
New Boss: Inari
- 御先稲荷 (狐憑き) Osakidouka (Kitsunetsuki) (En: fox possession)

- Inari summons a fox monster that pounces at the player periodically.
- The fox deals medium-to-low damage, and is a common attack.
- The fox is killable and has low health.
- 稲嵐 inearashi (En: Arashi of Seed)
- Inari spreads a fan of seeds toward the player.
- Each seed deals chip damage, and can create a wall.
- When each seed lands on the ground, it has a chance to sprout a grain plant on the ground.
- The grain plant will stay on the ground for a few seconds… which will be dangerous to the player.
- If a player gets too close to the plant, it will explode after a short delay, dealing medium damage to whoever’s close to it. Make sure you steer clear of the seeds!
- 狐火 Kitsunebi (En: Fox Flame)
- Inari launches multiple energy ball that’s shaped like a fox’s head toward the player.
- The flame travels slowly but deals high damage.
- ノウメン。ハナビ nomenhanabi (En: Mask of Malevolence)
- Inari drops her mask on the ground and disappears.
- The mask will explode in a few seconds, dealing massive damage in a large area!
- Inari will first use this skill when she enters the second stage, and will use it frequently.
- Second Stage
- When Inari reaches below 50% health, she will enter the second stage of her boss mode.
- Inari becomes more aggressive in this stage and frequently tries to get close to the player. Beware!
In the production timeline on top of game design, level design and game mechanics, we have audio design as well as theme song composition in the works. Our dev and art team are building furiously, and we expect to have a working product for everyone within the next two months.
